Traveler Reviews
Engineering nerd heaven!
As an engineer, I was blown away by Dujiangyan. The fact that this 2,300-year-old system still works perfectly—no pumps, no electricity—is mind-boggling. Our guide explained the hydraulics brilliantly. Mount Qingcheng was a peaceful bonus. Highly recommend for anyone interested in history or engineering.
Beautiful but crowded on weekends
Both sites are stunning, but we visited on a Saturday and it was packed with domestic tourists. The cable car line at Qingcheng took 40 minutes. If possible, go on a weekday. Despite the crowds, the sites themselves are magnificent and our guide was excellent.
