West Peak Cable Car Ascent (20 Minutes)
Board the West Peak cable car for a breathtaking 20-minute ride ascending 1,500 meters. Watch the Qinling mountains unfold beneath you as you rise to 2,082 meters altitude.
West Peak Exploration & Lotus Flower Peak
Explore West Peak's temples and pavilions. Your guide leads you to Lotus Flower Peak viewpoint for stunning 360-degree mountain vistas perfect for photography.
South Peak Cliff Trail Hike (Optional Plank Walk)
Hike the famous cliff trail to South Peak (2,154m), Mt. Huashan's highest point. For the brave: try the legendary Plank Walk—a narrow wooden plank bolted to a vertical cliff face!
Mountain Lunch at Peak Restaurant
Enjoy a hearty lunch at a mountain-top restaurant with views of the surrounding peaks. Refuel with Shaanxi specialties before the afternoon exploration.
East Peak & Chess Pavilion Visit
Hike to East Peak to see the famous Chess Pavilion where, according to legend, a Taoist master played chess with a deity. Explore ancient inscriptions carved into cliff faces.
Cable Car Descent & Return to Xi'an
Take the cable car back down the mountain and enjoy the scenic drive back to Xi'an. Your guide drops you off at your hotel around 6:30 PM.

Important Information
- Mt. Huashan reaches 2,154 meters altitude—bring layers as temperature drops 10-15°C at the summit
- The Plank Walk is optional and not recommended for those with fear of heights or heart conditions
- Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good grip—the cliff trails have steep steps and narrow paths
- Bring sunscreen and sunglasses—UV exposure is stronger at high altitude
- The cable car may close during extreme weather (heavy rain, snow, or strong winds)—we'll reschedule if needed
- This tour involves 3-4 hours of moderate hiking at altitude—a reasonable fitness level is required
- Avoid visiting during Chinese national holidays (Golden Week) when crowds are overwhelming

Most Thrilling Experience in China!

Spectacular Mountain Scenery
Mt. Huashan is breathtaking! The cable car eliminates the exhausting climb, so we had energy to explore all the peaks. South Peak's cliff trail was challenging but manageable with our guide's help. The mountain-top lunch was surprisingly good. Highly recommend for nature lovers!

Incroyable! Perfect autumn visit
We visited in October and the weather was perfect—clear skies and comfortable temperatures. The Lotus Flower Peak viewpoint offered 360-degree views of golden autumn foliage. Our guide shared fascinating Taoist legends. The Plank Walk was scary but unforgettable. A must-do from Xi'an!

Amazing but prepare for crowds
The mountain is absolutely stunning and the cable car ride is incredible. Our guide was excellent. Only complaint: even on a weekday, the cliff trails were crowded. I'd recommend starting as early as possible (7 AM pickup). Otherwise, a fantastic day trip and great workout!
